We seem to care only to those which affect us the most and the blessings we desired. But don’t you know that sometimes the things we consider as a disaster is a blessing in disguise? We never see anything as a blessing unless it is according to our will.

These so called “blessing in disguise” can actually benefit us. Though they seem to cause disastrous problems, after we finally overcome them, the true blessings will arise. Meaning though we don’t know, but the things we thought of as disaster is for the best of us. For example, if you won’t be passing the exam on your first choice of school, don’t be so depressed, this can be one of those blessings in disguise. What if your second choice of school can provide you more chances of having friends and at the same time balancing your studies? Isn’t that a better choice?

There are also instances wherein we will lose someone we love. We normally blame God but didn’t we realize that having our loved one rest is for the better? Would you rather be with her and see her suffer? Or lose her, but you know that her sufferings had ended and she can finally rest? Isn’t choosing the first one makes us selfish. See, God knows what’s best for us. We just can’t understand it unless we see the possible consequences. Remember, God is always with us and will never forsake us. He works in different ways, probably in ways we don’t understand, but always remember that this is for the better.

True Love

Once you are ready to be miserable just for that person, you can say that love is true. When you are ready to make sacrifices just for her happiness even if it means hurting you, this is what you call true love. In my opinion, there are two kinds of true love, one that is unrequited and one that is reciprocated.

The first one, love being unrequited doesn’t mean it’s not true. There are instances wherein they had the right kind of love but on the wrong person. There are stories about love triangles, the leading guy, leading woman and her childhood friend. The childhood friend tends to fall in love with the girl ever since but never had a chance to confess. When he finally tried to do so he finds out that her friend loves someone else who loves her as well. So he would just give way and let her friend be happy, even if it hurts him so much to the point where he would not want to fall in love again. For he wants to treasure his first love, because he knows he can never have her. This is also real for I believe that, for love to be true, you must never be selfish, you must not only think of yourself but think of how the other person feels as well. In this case he values his friend/ loved one better than his own feelings so he was ready to sacrifice his happiness if it means she can be happy even though it’s with another guy.

And the other one, the love being reciprocated. You can say that they are lucky for they have the right kind of love on the right person. Their love is true for both of them are ready to make sacrifices for each other and be ready to face any problems that will arise and try to interfere with their relationship. But no matter what happens, they will still stand up together and love each other forever. Such trivial things can never let them break up but instead it will strengthen their bond for them to be able to face greater trials in the future. Just like Psyche and Cupid, even though Psyche’s sisters tried to ruin their relationship, they were able to overcome it and were able to go against Venus just to protect their love for each other. It also proved how much they love other for Psyche was ready to do anything just so Venus can approve of her as her daughter in law. Cupid was also there to forgive her and back her up when he knew she can’t do it alone.

Other’s misfortune = Other’s Pleasure?

In peoples’ hearts jealousy often arises when they feel inferior of others or when they can’t have what they wanted and someone else got it. And once this jealousy arises, it results to a revengeful feeling to make that person worse than what she is right now. This is because they feel that if that person will get hurt or feel bad, then they can be superior to her once more. It makes them feel good and accomplished if she would have misfortune in her life, payment for interfering to their success and fame. They also tend to hate that person for she has whatever they think they deserve much better.

So most of the time, the reason for this pleasure is mainly because of jealousy. It can be just like how Psyche’s sister had felt towards her. Just because their riches can’t compare to hers, they really got jealous and this resulted to a plan that can destroy her. They planned to hurt her by filling her mind with a doubtful feeling towards her husband and make her scared of him, to the point where she would want to kill him and save herself from being devoured by such a creature.

Regardless of their relationship, when a person feels jealous and can’t suppress it, it can result to a destruction of one’s life. After listening to her sisters, she lit the lamp and saw her husband. But instead of wanting to kill him, she fell in love with him at first sight. When Cupid found about what her wife had done, he flew to his mother and left her. This is the result of her sisters’ jealousy. It actually destroyed their relationship. It only proves that it can ruin a person’s life. But to her sisters it felt great, knowing that they are once again greater than her and more superior in terms of riches for example.

My first Crush

When I got older, that’s the only time when I began to realize that I had fallen for my first friend. He was not only my first friend but he was my first crush as well. I remember going out with my sister to play with our neighbors when she didn’t have classes. I was always alone in the house with the maid so I was excited to go out and play with my sister.

I remember my mom telling me that I can play with our neighbors since their son is of the same age as me, and her mom is one of my mom’s close friends, Mrs. Vivian. When I was introduced to him, I was really shy back then and just mentioned my name. He just smiled then we began to play. I was so happy that I just met my first friend.

There were times when I will be stingy and be mean to him, but he just ignored it and he still played with me. Well you can say that as a child, I was a bit selfish when it comes to my toys since I never have to share it with anyone since I’m always alone, I just don’t like others playing with it, and most importantly I hate it when they destroy it.

There was a time when I got mad at him for destroying my toy and then he cried. I began to run after him and comforted him saying I was sorry. He said he didn’t care if I was mad but what he doesn’t like is to see me sad. He said how sorry he was and we played again as if nothing happened.

Our happy times have to end one way or another. I was informed that we will be leaving and staying with our relatives in Maragondon. I played as much as I can with him but I never told him that we will soon be leaving. I don’t want him to cry again (he really was a crybaby back then).

The next day, it was time to leave, all our things our packed. I was very sad, knowing that we won’t be coming back here, and most importantly, I will not be able to see my best friend. I bid goodbye to everyone and as I was going out of the gate, I suddenly felt someone hugging me, it was him, he finally found out before I left. He was crying and said how sorry he was for being a bad playmate and promised to be good as long as I stay.

Tears then began falling in my cheeks. I told him that we have to go to where most of our relatives are staying. I told him how happy I was that I met him and I hope to meet him someday when we get older. I went in the car and waved goodbye to the people and especially to him, hoping that I can see him soon.

Welcome to Philippine Science High School

I was so excited about this trip that I hardly fell asleep, but as soon as it was four in the morning, I got out of bed and prepared myself. I got all the things I will need and then head off. I was nervous thinking that I was late and that I was the only they were waiting for. To my surprise, I was the second person to get there and even the teachers were not yet there.

So I just stood in front of the school while waiting for the others to arrive. Luckily, Maam Ureta arrived soon enough so I was not alone waiting there. And later on, Jen and Alpha arrived n time as well so I was not bored. We went to the room and put our things in our lockers. But we left soon since Jen said she had a weird feeling about the room, probably something creepy.

The after a long time of waiting, almost everyone arrived except for one first year student. We waited for the bus and then left later on. Some of the students joined us when we stopped by at Naic and Tanza. It was a long trip but it was worth it, as soon as we arrived. My first stop is at the book fair. I bought the book entitled “The Host”, the one I am willing to buy for so long.

Then we went to the gym, where the symposium will be held. We waited there for awhile until all of the students had arrived. It started off with signing the national anthem, and then with a prayer. The welcome remark was led by Dr. Helen E. Caitnic, the director of PSHS Main Campus. Then next was the intermission number by Sagala (Sayaw at Galaw) and the short lecture about the celebration for the Year of Astronomy. Then we had the announcements, closing remarks and the start for our chosen workshops.

I chose chem. magic and went to room 106, one of their chem. labs, together with Jen, Ria, ate Maikka, Justin and Mikee. We were divided into 3 groups and performed the experiments separately. It was fun. Though we had done some of the experiments, I still enjoyed it a lot, especially since I had a very cute teammate.

See he’s just in grade 4, and he’s so cute and adorable. He’s so amazed with the experiments we have been doing, and I suddenly felt the urge of wanting a younger brother, just like him, oh well. After that, we took pictures and then waited outside for the others.

We had lunch together and then went to the gym and waited for the Mathematics Interscholastic Competition 2009 to start. We watched the individual one, then waited for the team category. Unfortunately, we were not able to enter so we left and went to the bus.

While waiting for the teachers to arrive, while getting the certificates, I watched the rocket launching. It was a nice thing to see. After that, we left and unfortunately once again, we were lost in Quezon so we kept on going in circles for about 2 hours. But at about 5: 30, we reached Bacoor and had a stop over at the mall. I bought more books and food. Then later on, we were back after about an hour or so. Then after another hour, we parted ways and I went home with yet another memory to treasure

A Year Older

I can't believe it's been a year already. I was so preoccupied with my life that I was shocked to know that I will be facing another struggling year ahead of me. Anyway, i just don't want to be treated special during this time of the year, so I told everyone not to greet me and act normal.

So much for my drama, I was shocked as soon as I entered our room, nobody did greet me. I was shocked though I know that this is what I asked from them. Everything seems normal, the only difference is, they acted as if I am not around, I mean I didn't asked for them to ignore me. Is it just me, or this is really what it has been before.

So as usual, I went to our assigned place and started cleaning, I felt uneasy with the eerie atmosphere around me so I tried to talk to Kat and asked her why is she not talking to me, or if there is a problem, in case. She just nodded and proceeded with her work. That's strange, I mean normally, Kat-Kat will just tell me that nothing's wrong, change the subject and make me comfortable, but this time, it's all different.

So, now I get it that they won't greet me, since they started joking each other, and greeted Kat-Kat, pretending as if it is her birthday. I just smiled and went on with cleaning. Then later on, I've noticed that Ten-Ten kept on staring at me, so I asked her if she has a problem, but instead of answering she just hugged me and told me that I know whatever she wanted to tell me. She just wants to greet me a happy birthday, but didn't say it directly, since it is what I wanted(thanks Ten, you're the best!).

Then as soon as I entered our room, I've noticed my classmates talking to each other, as if they were planning on doing something. So there it was, our first subject, P.E. Since I've noticed Pamela, not having a book, I've lent her mine, for us to share, but then she refused and went to Kat-kat's chair. I wonder if she is part of their scheme.

Then, next is Math and we were supposed to graph the data we have, meaning, we need graphing papers. For the first time, someone else talked to me, and it was Jen, thinking she is not part of them, I talked back. Then later on, I've heard her being scolded by A-jae for talking to me, so maybe she is part of it as well.

I was quiet the whole time. I just figured it out that they were ignoring me intentionally, and if I try to talk to one of them, they will just be mad at that person, so I changed my tactic. Instead of pushing them to talk, why not let them talk to me through sympathy. So I tried to look as pitiful as possible, not talking to anyone and going on the lab on my own.

Then after Chemistry, I walked out of the lab, with Rochelle, the only person who's not part of it, I guess, and thought of who will I be going with during lunch. I thought of my choices: go home, eat alone or try to push Kat in eating with me, since I'm not sure if she is part of it.

But then, I never knew that it will really work out, they really did sympathized me. So, when I got to the room, Everyone greeted me a happy birthday, and told me that they just couldn't wait till afternoon since i look pitiful, having to go all alone. So my tactic did work out!

Anyway, so, we are finally talking to each other, and they were confessing to me that it has been hard not being able to talk to me. I was also shocked receiving gifts from my groupmates in cleaning-Kat, Sheila and Ian. I treated my friends lunch and we were telling stories at each other on our way back. It may not seem normal at all, or you may say that it is anything but ordinary, but I never thought that I will treasure this day forever.

Save Me, My Hero!

Jacob Black is a famous character in the bestselling novel by Stephenie Meyer, Twilight. He is the once typical best friend of Isabella Swan also known as Bella. He has always been around his best friend, ready to comfort her and take part in her misery.

In her time of depression, when her leading man, Edward Cullen has left her, Jacob was ready to lend her his shoulder for her to lean on and shed her tears. He was ready to give light to her darkness. He was ready to give warmth to her cold and freezing life. He was ready to stitch back her broken heart. Truly enough he is a reliable friend.

And when it was Jacob's time to face some difficulty, when he turned into a werewolf, it is now Bella's time to accept her fully, regardless of what he has turned to. She accepted his fate and stayed with him as long as she can.

A Friend in need is a friend indeed! That’s what friends are for, helping each other to stand up when they fall down. For me, our best friends are our everyday heroes. They are there whenever we need them. They are our wall, where we can lean on.

As for Bella, Jacob Black is a hero as well, just like Edward. He gave her another purpose for her to exist, another purpose to live. In short, he saved her from doom, just like how a hero would save her damsel in distress or someone special and important.

Heroes are not only honored as when they save a person’s life. Giving a person her new purpose and giving her hope is part of it as well. Saving a person emotionally is the same as saving her from death. Stay with me my friend,my hero, and be with me till the very end.

Jingle bells, Jingle bells...

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way...

As usual, I woke up early to go to church this Saturday morning. As soon as I am up, I took a bath, got dressed and ate breakfast, and finally prepared my things before leaving. In there, we had our usual lesson study together with my co-small group. Then after that, we shared some of our experiences regarding our topic. Then we closed it off with a prayer.

Then later on, we sat at the same place with the other choir members in praperation for the upcoming response. After the prayer, our choir had a special number and later on we sat back at our places and isten to the sermon. After about less than an hour, the pastor finished speaking, we had the closing song, closing prayer, and then we were dismissed.

That afternoon, we had our choir's practice at about 1 o'clock, after having lunch. we reviewed some of our pieces and had the vocalization before starting. Then we had the A.Y or the afternoon program after evrything. The activities were not only fun and entertaining, but they reminded us about the important things to remember, such as the christian songs and the historical places in the Bible where God's miracle took place.

The little kids also took their part by singing a song praising and thanking God for their good health. Then after a short discussion, we had a group dynamics and we discussed with each other the topic assigned to us. After that, we had the closing song and the closing prayer led by our church practice.

Then, at about 7:30 pm, we went back to church and met there to start our caroling for a fund raising. We started off with the neigboring place, who are church members as well. We went to everyone's houses and sang some Christmas songs to lighten up their spirit, and for them to tis the season. We ended up at about 9 pm, and parted ways. I enjoyed singing songs to them as well and it reminded me of the reason why we celebrate christmas, because of love.

Review time!

As soon as we were informed of the upcoming contest in the Environmental Science, we were pulled out of classes starting on Thursday. It was really tiring reading from morning till afternoon, but it was all worth it learning all these facts.

We reviewed all the topics regarding pollution, a little bit of physics and chemistry, and partly ecology, including the general facts about Science and the laws implemented to protect mother nature.

We are staying at the stockroom, our home sweet home, where it is somewhat quiet, enough for us to concentrate in studying. At times, we stay in the LRC together with the other environmentalists, as what we call ourselves, and discuss things that we don't quite understand. The seniors tried to assist us in the best way they can and share some of their knowledge to everyone especially to the freshmen.

It was really fun hanging out with the others while we are reviewing. It makes it more entertaining rather than being boring. After each day's work, ate Maikka and I reviewed each otherby exchanging questions. It was kinda sad though, the fact that we can't attend classes and I totally miss my friends.

I miss the times when I always chat with Pam, Jen and Kat about books, manga, and stuff. It really makes me sad not being able to do so, since I have to focus about the contest for now. But I want to think of it as a once in a lifetime chance, a chance I should not let go of.

Anyway, it is also nice, since I began to got closer to the others and learn more from them.Through this, I got more prepared and got less tense for the coming individual test. Anyway, the big event is a few days ahead and I am full of excitement and nervousness, wish me luck!

Math Festival

Everyone has been excited for the upcoming Math Festival. It has been talked about for quite awhile and now, it is time for it to start.

It was Friday morning and everyone is busy preparing for the program to open the Math Festival. We first had the ceremony to open it up. We had the doxology, followed by the national anthem. Then we had it officially opened and started off with the activities on the list.

There was the comic strip exhibit wherein the masterpieces of students were displayed for their hidden skills and talents to be shown. There was the Scino Damath and the tower of Hanoi, the game I also got addicted to.

I was so absorbed at learning how to play it and do it correctly that I was able to learn in less than a day. It felt as if it was a lot of achievement for me, since I’ve always liked these kinds of games.

Then we also had the Math Trail and the Quiz bee in the morning, wherein we also tried to participate by trying to answer the questions meant for the contestants. Our section got 4th place, but we were proud of our contestants. Then in the afternoon, we had the most awaited event for this festival, the Mr. and Ms. Mathaba pageant. There were four representatives each year level and everyone’s cheering them on.

Event the first years made it a close fight, especially their contestant in Ms. Mathaba. She was really active and full of energy. The second years didn’t draw back as well, they did their best to support their representative and their contestants did their best to give pride to his and her co- students.

But of course, we third years are also in with this pageant. We were cheering on our contestants and they did their best as well, the same as it is with the fourth years. Actually, their Mr. Mathaba was active as well.

With each interval for their talent, and question and answer portion, we are having the Math jingle, the highlight of the event as well. Everyone had their songs performed with originality and creativity. There were others which mad it serious, and others which made us all laugh with their jokes included in their performance.

It was well prepared and everyone’s anticipating to win. It was actually a close fight but in the end, the third year level became the champion for this. And to close it all off, the results were announced in the pageant and everyone went home, with another memory worth keeping within their minds.

A Trip To Aniban Church

It was an exciting journey towards Aniban Church. Since Friday, we had been practicing for this special event. We will be having our concert there as part of the program in the afternoon. We gave it our best shot while practicing.

Everyone's really exhausted after that. When we went home, I was feeling a little dizzy and tired. I tried to lie down, yet I cannot fall sleep. It took me a couple of hours till I my eyes closed and I unconsciously fell asleep, not minding the body pain anymore.

The next day, when I tried to wake up, I suddenly felt the pain in my head. It made me dizzy as soon as I tried to stand up, so I just went back to sleep to rest and be prepared for the concert later on. When I woke up, it was already late in the afternoon and anytime soon. We will be leaving already. I hurriedly took a bath and ate lunch, then prepared myself.

We had traveled for a total of 2 hours since there is traffic. I just slept and chat with the others while we were on the car to remove my tension. As soon as we arrived, we went at the other room and prepared ourselves there.

Later on, we were introduced and then we had our first part. It was a total of 7 songs, with a mixture of acapella, while the others was accompanied by the piano. It felt really good being able to finish those seven infront of everyone there. We just rested for awhile while there was a lecture about music going on which was led by kuya Bong.

After a couple of minutes, the others were back onstage. We were still waiting in the room since we will go back there after their first song in the second part. When we got in our places, I noticed someone calling me from the audience.

When I looked there, I saw ate Jheng, a schoolmate. I smiled at her and she smiled back at me. We went on with the concert and before singing our last song, we introduced ourselves at the audience and then said our thanks for their warm welcome towards us. We sang our last song, Jesus is coming and then one of the member had the prayer.

When we went back to the room, we saw food at the table prepared for everyone. After praying, we ate together and ate Jheng called out to us. I was shocked that she was an acquaintance of ate Julie.

They had been friends since last, last year’s volleyball competition. We had our photos taken together and then we bid goodbye and thanks to everyone. It was such a nice experience, especially if the people enjoyed it.

Science Camp

These days have been memorable for me. I wasn't able to sleep that well since I was excited about the Science camp. Because of that, I woke up late already. After preparing my things I went to school and found out that I was the last person from Maragondon they were waiting for. We stopped by at one of the gasoline station in Naic for the other passengers and the rest were in Tanza. We had fun looking at the beautiful scene in Laguna.

As soon as we arrived there, we warmly welcomed and were assigned to our room, where we will be staying. We just rested the whole time after arriving and having our lunch. The first activity was the parade. After that, we had our dinner and attended the pageant for Binibini and Ginoong Kalikasan 2008. There were a total of 15 ladies and 14 men. The contest went well and ended at 3 am.

They first showed their normal outfit, using the color of the division they represent. It was followed by their casual look, then sportswear and then their talent, followed by the indigenous costume and the question and answer portion. It was a great show. Their indigenous outfit only showed that they really spent some time in doing it with great effort and desire to win this contest. The contestants all have their own unique talent. Our representative in the Ginoong Kalikasan won 3rd runner up in the end, while the Binibining Kalikasan won 2nd runner up.

Then after sleeping for a couple of hours, I woke up and took a bath. Then we had our breakfast together. After that, we went straight to the gym and went to our designated group. We were informed of the activities we are bound to join and the yell we must organize. But at 9, I went with Kathleen to her contest and cheered for her. I also listened at the questions in preparation for our coming environmental quiz bee. After that, we went back and had our lunch.

We went to the gym and cooperated with the scrap art activity. It was so fun working with the others. I also got to know them better. After that, fortunately, our art won first place. I was so glad and proud that I was part of it. Then later on, the tugsayawit contest started. There were 8 groups all in all, representing each division. It was well prepared by everyone and I was really amazed at everyone’s performance. Then we had dinner after the contest, and slept early.

The next morning, I ate breakfast first then performed the exercise and then took a bath after helping my group mates with our research. I just stayed in the room for awhile since the research defense is the last activity before the awarding. After that, I went with my classmates to buy some things outside after eating lunch. I got a good deal at buying pasalubong. It was fun and we attended the awarding afterwards. We got certificates for the yell, scrap art, and the over-all 2nd place in the groupings, go peach nature! I had fun and it was something worth treasuring. Can’t wait for the next Science camp!

A Blessed Sabbath

Today is Saturday! Another day for me to enjoy. We are bound to head towards Mt. Nagpatong(a.k.a. Bonifacio's Shrine). That is where the program will be held for today. Actually, there were campers who wnet there ahead of us. They had been there since Friday afternoon. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived at the designated place. I also saw some familiar faces from Magallanes church. Some of my old friends and acquaintances were there, so we talked for a bit.

We were grouped with them since we will be joining the activities they will be having. First, we had the worship. we sang songs in unity and then had a break after the sabbath school program. We rested for a while while were having some snacks we brought along with us. Then after some time, we proceeded with the program.

We had sang more songs and then it was followed by a prayer and the special number from our group or should I say, from the 3K Group(Kilos Kabataan Kaya Mo Yan). It was an on the spot number. We weren't prpared at all, but good thing everything turned well. the after that, our church pastor had some introductions on how the word "pathfinder" was born into this world. The history of how it was now used was quite long though, but it was nice to know about it.

After that, we closed the program with a prayer and we were dismissed. We had our lunch together, and the food sure were appetizing. After that sumptuous feast, we went outside to tour around the place. It really looks like a villa now than a shrine. Though it is not my first time to be here, I am still amazed by its beauty and its importance as part of our history.

After the siesta hour, we proceeded with the afternoon program. This one is full of activies, both for young and old. We first had prparations for the outdoor activity. Another group was added, composing of the old ones, in their early 30's and above. It was not a competition but more of a challenge. There will be alternate physical challenge and then the mental type wherin you will be asked things about the Bible using only your stock knowledge.

It was really fun, and the last challenge was for us to find anything from the nature with the first letter starting from any in the alphabet to complete it all. It was the hardest of all the challenges, but we were not down by it. It also made me closer to my teammates since we have to work together. After that, we had the last activity, the traesure hunting in which our group won. We solved the puzzle first and got the prize, another step in making us first in the rank.

After our prizes were calimed, it is now time for us to go. I said my farewell to everyone and wished them luck for more activities. I also said goodbye to my old acquaintances and left with a smile. I really enjoyed today!

Macintosh Victory In Sepak Takraw Girls

"Never give up", the Red Macintosh believes in these words. With their game in Sepak Takraw Girls, they didn't give up and they were never down knowing that their opponents are the seniors, the Blue Vaio.

The game started off with some intense heat in the air. With Alpha Agape Myrizzia Colocado as their team captain, they fought as hard as they could to outsmart the Vaio.Taking good receives with swift kicks by Colocado, they are leading with 4 points. Then they ended the first set with a final score of 21-18, in favor of the Red Macintosh.

Then with the second match, the cheers of each team echoed in the gym. Everyone's too excited to know how it will end up.The Vaio started off with some good serves and kicks to uphold the title of winning the game. But the Macintosh did not fear nor did they lose hope, instead they did all their best to lead. With the anxiety and tension being built up among the players, the game has now come to its end.

The Red Macintosh gained a score of 19, while the Vaio has a score of 10, making the Vaio 9 points behind. But, the game continued and ended with a final score of 21-12, in favor of the Macintosh, making them the winner. They ended up shaking each others hands, resembling sportsmanship.

Go, Go Macintosh!

During the first day, one of the most awaited events for this Intramurals 2008-2009, is the Cheer Dance Competition. With their talent in dancing and cheerfulness, everyone participated with all their might.

The competitors were organized and got everyone's attention, starting with the first year level, the Green Acer. They did their routine with enthusiasm and energy. It is such an original routine and everyone put their efforts in doing it.There was a loud applause in the gym. Everyone appreciated the fact that, even though they are the youngest, they were not afraid to show their hidden talents and whatever they got.

Then next up, the Yellow Asus, the second year level. They did an enthusiastic routine as well but theirs is more organized. It was a good dance cheer and everyone was also amazed with the talents they had shown us.

Then next to that, the Red Macintosh! We were shouting and cheering them up. They started off with some cool dance moves. Their song is also good but it is more of a dance than a cheer, oh well. It is also good considering the short time they had to practice.A loud applause can be heard as well after their cheer dance with people shouting and echoing in the gym, where it was held.

Then next to that, one of the awaited cheer dance, the one to be performed by the fourth year level, the Blue Vaio. Their cheer is very good and original. They were able to perform their moves gracefully. It is also a good cheer and they were creative with their costumes. We were amazed with their performance and with the others as well.

It was a good show. The 4th place was given to the Green Acer, which is worth 15 points. Then next, the 3rd place was awarded to the Yellow Asus, which is worth 20 points.Next to that is the second place which was given to the Blue Vaio, worth 25 points, and the first place was awarded to the Red Macintosh, worth 30 points, which gave us inspiration to go on with this challenge.

Red Beats Green

Showing that not only guys can play basketball but girls as well, the girls from the Red Macintosh and the Green Acers dominated the court in the CNSHS, 2nd day of the intramurals 2008-2009.

Just with the first quarter, the Red Macintosh already broke the ice as they showed them what they got. With a score of 12-0, it gave them power to prove that they not only have guts but the skills to win this game.

Continuing with the second quarter, the Red Macintosh did not let the Green Acers get a point because they have a well coordinated defense and offense as well. They got a score of 20-0, with the Green Acers still adjusting and recovering from the results.

In the middle of the last quarter, the intense heat can be felt around the atmosphere. The players of Green Acers made their first shot and continued until the score reached 28-8. But the Red Macintosh let the fire burning. With their abilities and team work, they made their way to victory in the last minute with a score of 34-8. It was such a good game. Everyone enjoyed and showed their hidden skills.

Something to Remember

"Ang mga kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan". This is something we must keep within our minds. This Friday, October 3, we will be having the Alay Lakad, to be held here in Maragondon. I also participated in the said event.

Since my friends asked me to attend as well, I agreed and told them to meet up there. But, unfortunately I woke up late, so I just went with my cousin and met up with the others in the plaza. It's a good thing that it is not yet starting. We lined up as soon as we arrived, then started walking. I also saw some of my classmates included in the Saliw Dance Troupe, together with some of my teachers.

We walked for about an hour. We passed by at Caingin and went back to the plaza. It was really fun though it's a bit tiring. Next, we assembled at the covered court and started the program. First, we had some introductions and acknowledgments for the people who made the event possible to happen. Then they started the raffle followed by a dance number from the winner among the elementary students last Street Dance Competition, which is the Pantihan Elementary School.

It was such a graceful dance. Everyone's amazed by the talent they possess at such a young age. Then next to that, we continued the raffle and the prizes for the slogan making was given out as well. Then finally, the most awaited person arrived, the guest speaker, Mr. ECG. Then to spice it all up, there was an intermission number from the Saliw dance troupe of CNSHS, dancers of PUP, and the students from Pantihan once again. Then after everything, we went home.

Next to that, I attended the Social night the next day. It was so much fun. We played lots of games and some other program. We even had this so called marching, wherein a couple or rather partners walks together in harmony. This is actually one of the main events since new love teams are always born or should I say discovered. Unfortunately, I was one of them. I was always being partnered with a fellow church member but we are still good friends though. It was so much fun and is something that is worth remembering.

Fun Experiences and The Past

This Thursday, a lot of fun experiences came my way. The most awaited time of my Zoology life came, we will dissect a frog. But the ironic part about it is, we don't have anything, neither do we have materials for dissecting, nor do we have a dissecting pad. How did we survived you ask? Read and learn.

During our Zoology, when the class was divided, I was shocked that maybe we will do a practicum or some kind. I thought for sure that it couldn't be disecting because it was too early for that. But when I saw their materials and my classmates told me about it, my doubts were gone. We will surely dissect right now. I was very excited and nervous at the same time. When we were asked to prepare the materials, I was worried, thinking that we won't be able to do it.

Our group was divided and they got the frog and the dissecting pad while the other group, had pity on us and lent us some of their materials. After an hour, we were able to dissect a frog successfully and know its parts. I was so happy that we were able to do it no matter what, and of course very thankful to group 2, who has been a great help to us. It proved that no matter what the hindrances are, there is always a way on how to do what you want.

Another fun experience I had is during this Friday, during Ajae's birthday. Whenever we don't have classes and free time, we were taking pictures of everyone. Then during the recess in the afternoon, Ajae gave a treat to everyone. We also took pictures of the event and had fun together.

After doing that, we had zoology and after doing our seatwork, we went to the other side of the room and checked out the ones who are dissecting. I had also looked at the microscope and saw the structure of the red blood cell of the frog. After that, we just stayed in the room and took pictures for our requirements in intrams.

Then, this Saturday, I had been reminiscing about the past. We went to Magallanes church because of the fellowship. In there, we sang 3 songs, in the Sabbath school, divine and during the A.Y program. It was so fun being in there. We also had lunch and we were able to listen to the testimony and the concert of andrew, a gifted blind, who can play the piano very well. He told stories about his life, and how God has been very good to him ever since. He shared his talent to everyone and each one of us was blessed.

After that, before going home, I met classmates there and chatted with them for awhile. we were talking about the past and updating each other about our present lives. We also visited my other classmate, Mack, and greeted him belated happy birthday, since his birthday was also last Friday, September 26. It was so fun being able to see my classmates again after a long period of time. I sure did enjoy this week.

The Person Whom I Most Admire

The person whom I most admire and had made a significant change in my life is my mom. It is all thanks to her that I am here now but more importantly, of what I am now. Even though she has always been around when I was young, I never realized that slowly, she is training me to be stronger and tougher so that I can face the storm of problems that might come my way. She has also a strong faith in God and she always reminds us never to forget to ask for God's help whenever we are facing trials which can make us stronger.

She has always been there whenever I am down and she will always cheer me up. She has been my wall, where I can lean on in times of problems. She has been giving me some advices about my problems and is always trying to reach my hand whenever i am about to drown and fall. She is always smiling and she never shows a crying face. I can say that she is indeed strong and she wants me to become one too.

I have always looked up to her on how she can manage to balance her life. Now that she is working abroad and I can only see her whenever we visit there, I feel sad cause she cannot be there always just like before when I need her. But when I thought of what she had taught me, I will be strengthened by those and be ready to face tomorrow.

2 Special Days

This Friday, a lot has happened to me. First, during the morning, after having our recess, we were called out to the gym and asked to stay in the pavilion for the elimination of the on the spot speech. I was so nervous that My hands felt really cold. When we were about to draw our number, luckily I was not the first instead I was the 8th to speak in front of everyone. One by one, we were called out to talk in the stage.

Finally when I was next, I was informed of the topic as Global warming. I was really tensed and could not think properly. Later on, still not done constructing my speech, the one before me went downstage meaning it is my turn already! I was nervous thinking about what I have to say. At first, everything went smoothly, but then when I have nothing to say, I stopped already and realized that it was a total disaster! Anyway throughout the day I felt really depressed of what had happened but fortunately, I have friends beside me that tried to comfort me, and it helped a lot.

Then that night, I prepared myself for another musical evening. I am one of the main characters so I was also nervous about it. We produced a musical performance just like one from a theater except ours is a shorter version and is about the events in the Bible. It was good overall and I was happy that i was a part of it. And the fact that the people who watched enjoyed, it makes me feel proud and was worth giving effort for.

This Saturday is another important day for me. After the normal service, we had our lunch and went to church at exactly 12:30 pm. We prepared for our journey to Tubuan church in Silang. I had a couple of fun experiences while traveling together with our co-choir members. When we arrived there, we were warmly welcomed by the church members. Then we went backstage to prepare for the first part of the concert.

Then later on, we were introduced and we walked on stage and sang the songs we prepared for them. After singing the 8 songs for the fist part., we went backstage and went inside to participate in the activity. It is all about forming a sentence about a Christian’s belief starting from the first letter of the names of the members.

There were 10 groups in all and I was in the 2nd group. We had a lot of fun and we were acquainted with each other. Then we went back and sang the remaining songs for the second part. After that, we were introduced one by one and went home. After sunset, while still traveling, we sang love songs together and it was really fun. We enjoyed this whole trip and it sure was a thing to remember.

Tiring but Fun...

This Sunday is one of those important days for me. We have been preparing for this day to come since last week. We had been continuously practicing for this big event. Every year, our town is celebrating Maragondon Day. I have only attended this a couple of times and just watch out for the special events, but i had never imagined that today, I will be able to participate in the program.

You see, our choir was asked to sing for the doxology at this said event. We had been practicing one song since early in the morning. The program will start at 7 o' clock so we decided to meet up at 6:00 am in the church for vocalizations and one last practice. After that, we decided to go and just meet backstage together.

When we reached bayan, we hurriedly went backstage and saw all of them waiting. After we had been introduced, we went onstage and started singing. We sang the song "You are the Light". It was nerve-wracking as usual, whenever I see a lot of people staring at me and watching me. During the song, all eyes are on us, so after singing, I was relieved being able to do all I can.

Then next is the national anthem, which was led by the band. After singing another hymn, we went down and prayed and said our thanks to God. We had our photos taken as a remembrance for this day, the start of our stardom...hehehe. Even though it sounds simple, for me, it is something worth treasuring.

Later on, we had breakfast together and decided to watch the street dancing when we're done. Then, we looked for a good spot and waited there. One by one, the dancers from each school arrived. You can see that it was well prepared by just looking at their cute, native and colorful costumes.

Even the elementary students are good in dancing. Makes me jealous of not having talent for dancing(hehehe). After them, next is our school. I was cheering and shouting. I wanted to encourage them and give them my full support. I even saw my other classmates in the parade. Then after that, I met up with my groupmates and bought materials for our project in arts.

I went to Jen's house and we did our project together. We were using my iPod while doing the design on the bottle. I am the artist while jen is my worker. Well, she is the one who came up with the idea and did most of the work, while I'm the one who sketched the design and gave my ideas on the color and helped as well.

We were a good pair.I had lunch with her since we were not able to finish at once. After eating, we went back to work. At about past 3 o' clock, I said my good bye and went home. It sure was a tiring but fun day.

Musical Night

This Friday is special. After classes, I went home and got dressed. I received a message later on telling me that we will be having practice for the special program this night. I hurriedly went to church and participated in the choir practice.

After that I went home and prepared together with my cousin for our instrumental number. We have been practicing since a few days ago. I find time, for about 30 minutes, to practice my violin. After that, I went to church at about 7:00 pm. The program started off with singing praises to God. Then we had the opening prayer to consecrate this musical night to God. After that, the participants were introduced to the congregation.

Then we had an activity wherein we will be given a problem, solve it and the answer(in numbers) will be looked at in the church hymnal and will be sang by the group. We had a lot of fun. We just guessed until we got the right answer. Then next to that we had the first part. We had the solo singers and our choir for opening the first part of this musical night. A lot of talented singers from our church took part in it.

Then we had the second part. The main point of this part is all about duets. We had couples and lovers singing together. we were also included in that part since we will be playing our instruments together( flute and violin). It was really nerve-wracking...I was really nervous though it is not my first time to play. I was happy though and proud of the outcome since I know that I did my best. Then next to us was the instrumental number of the Spring wind Ensemble as well.

After that, we preceded with the third part. It was a combination of trios and quartets. They were all talented and blesessed by God with all of those voices. Then to close it all of, our church pastor was requested to sing solo for the first time. It was followed by our closing song; "Good Old Gospel" and then followed by the closing prayer. we bid evryone goodbye and went home. I sure feel blessed by hearing those songs of praises to God. My spiritual faith was once more revived and this will serve as my strength.

Sundown Worship

This Saturday we just had our normal programs except we had this grand sundown worship into life once again. This morning, as soon as I woke up, I took a bath, got dressed, ate my breakfast then got prepared to go to church. In there, the sabbath school program was led by the visitors from Baesa, Caloocan City. Then after the lesson, we preceded with the divine service. And as usual, our choir sang for the response and for the special number as well. Then after the speaker was done doing the sermon, we went home and had our lunch.

As a member of the choir, I am obligated to attend all of the meetings and practices we will be having. So at about 1:00 pm, I went back to church and attended our choir's practice. Then we did some vocalizations and practiced the song we will be singing for the doxology in celebration of the Maragondon day on this coming September 7.

We even practiced the national anthem in case we will also be asked to sing that as well. After that, I already noticed a change in my voice, I think I'm starting to have sore throat once again(haiz, I just had my cough and cold treated a few weeks ago and here it goes again...).

After that, when everyone was gathered inside the church, we started the A.Y. program. It was once again led by the visitors. We had activities done and we had someone to share their testimonies in life. The activities sure were fun and exciting. Everyone enjoyed it and learned something. After that, one of the teachers there had her testimony which strengthen our faith in God. He sure still makes miracles up to these days.

Then after that, we started our grand sundown worship. We started it off with singing songs of praises to God. Then we had the prayer and started off with the activity. We were grouped into 6 groups and were given a certain amount of money. With that amount, we started an auction of things in accordance to our priorities in life.

Then after that, our group got a great deal, we got a laptop, trip around the world and the citizenship in heaven( if ever it can be bought). We explained the purpose of each items we bought and the same goes for other the groups. Through this activity, we were reminded of the things we must prioritize before anything else and to maintain a balance life, refraining from loving money so much which represents the root of all evil.

Nothing So Special

These past few days has been very good ones. Even though nothing special happened, I was able to enjoy the luxury of resting and enjoying my high school life without worries. As soon as the PT days were over, I was able to rest a lot and not worry about anything for awhile.

But the most crucial part has come. It is now time to check our papers to know if we did well in our exams. I went to school early in the morning last Tuesday since we will be having our flag ceremony which was led by the Kabayani club officers and members. Then after that, we had our normal classes. In some subjects, we only checked our testpapers, as what I said earlier is the part I am anxious about.

I got bad results with the other subjects which I already expected, since few people from our class got a passing mark. But as soon as we checked other subjects, I was relieved to know that I got passing grades in the major ones and science related subjects like Physics. It feels good knowing that my hard work and studying with my full effort paid off with those marks. I'm glad I can report this to my parents with confidence and relief.

Then for the other days, we had our activities and we also had an L.T. in Research. I am glad that I only got a couple of mistakes though I feel a bit disappointed since it took me one night to study all those, yet not even half of what I studied was included in the test...oh well.

Other than that, I was able to participate well in the oral participation at class. After class, I always do my assignments and give some of my spare time to practice my violin. What a wonderful week! All was perfect as what I always wanted it to.I had a lot of time to rest, read and play music!

Then after the classes last Friday, we had an hour of free time. I stayed in the room since I don't have any club meetings to attend to. I feel so relaxed after that day of stress and everything. Then after that, we went to the court and had our flag retreat. After that, it is now time to go. I waved and bid goodbye to my classmates and friends with a smile imprinted on my face.

A Busy Day

This Wednesday sure was a busy day for me. Today was also the 2nd day of our 2nd periodic test for the first grading. We had our tests in Chemistry, Physics, Araling Panlipunan, Filipino and our chosen elective(Zoology). The questions sure are hard. Then after that, we had our lunch break. I went out with my classmates and we ate together.

We had fun chatting and everything. Then after eating we had a few minutes of rest and we preceded with our chores. We are assigned to clean in the cactus garden. Since the grasses are already tall, we are asked to cut them.

As I was suppose to go outside, I realized that all of my groupmates are not around and that I'll be cleaning alone. The others are busy with their clubs while the others are just trying to run away from their responsibilities. So, I walked for awhile trying to look for them.

As I stopped by at the front of the guidance, I saw my other classmates who are cleaning. I asked for their help as soon as they were done and they were willing to do so. We went to our part and then we started cleaning and cutting the grasses. It took us a while before my other groupmates arrived and helped me out.

Then, when I looked at my watch, I saw that it was already time for me to attend the Tagisan ng Talino held by the Filipino club. I hurriedly went to the TRC room where it will be held and found out that the other contestants were already there. After about 10 minutes, the quiz started. They dictated the questions and we had 10 items each for the easy, medium and hard part.

Then as soon as we finished I went back to the room and got some cleaning materials and went to the new guidance center with my other classmate to clean there as a part of our project. We wiped all of the toys and even the mats. Then after that, we went back once again to the room and I asked some of my close friends to accompany me in the LRC to search for my research.

Fortunately I made it in time before it closes and I was also able to finish copying the data as well. When I went back to the room I saw everyone cleaning so I tried to help them out. We were not able to attend the flag retreat because of that.

Today sure was a busy day for me. Good thing I can rest for five days due to the town fiesta and another holiday. I just can think of these free days as a present for my hard work for today.

Everyone's Talented

Today, I can never forget these words from someone, "everyone's talented so don't be afraid to show them what you got". Because of this, I became inspired to use my talent in sharing my faith through music.

This Saturday afternoon, we are invited to sing in Naic Seventh Day Adventist Church. As soon as we arrived there, we were warmly welcomed by everyone and we felt their heartfelt appreciation for seeing us there. We were ushered to the backstage for some preparations while the little children in there are singing praises to God. I realized that age must not be a hindrance for us to worship our God.

Then introductions were made and we made our way to the stage. There was quite a large number of people and our performance will be recorded, so overall, it really makes me nervous!During the first part, all the songs were accompanied by the piano and we sang a total of 8 songs. It was alright and we were very happy to be able to finish that part well.

Then after resting for awhile we were back for the second part composing of acapella pieces so this time, it is harder. It is pleasant to see that everyone is enjoying our performance so it's worth it. Then after another 5 songs, we went backstage and changed our uniforms. We were followed by the younger kids who are playing their flutes. But during their instrumental number, a shocking occurrnce took place. One of the children collapsed in fron of the stage while playing. They said that it is because he just came from the hospital and the intense heat triggered it all. It caused a big commotion among the people so the last part was delayed.

After everything was cleared and medical assistance was given to him, we were back once again. We had the VOP part wherein all of us will have our solos. I was very nervous that time thinking that maybe I will suddenly forget the lines and mess it all up. But thankfully, it all ended up well. We sang our last song, "Good Old Gosple Singing" and it was followed by the church pastor's prayer.

A Space For Improvement

This Saturday is another blessed day for me. Ever since we joined the choir in our church, it is a fact that we have accepted our responsibilites as part of the group. It is a matter of sacrifices for serving the Lord through music. And now, we have to gladly accept it.

Today, we were once again assigned to sing in the church. It is for the Sabbath school program and everyone are bound to attend. as a result of sleeping late last night beacuse of our practice, I woke up late. as soon as I woke up, I hurriedly took a bath, change to our uniform, ate breakfast and did any preparations before going to church. When i went to the church, the program has already started. everyone were on the pulpit, singing praises to God. After their song, I went on stage and sang together with them. Thank god I still made it to participate even not for the whole time.

After that, we went to the other room and prayed to God. After that, we preceded having our lesson study led by one of the elders in the church. After that, questions were raised and added information from other members were given and shared to everyone. Then we had the preparations for the divine service followed by the choir's response. Then introudctions were done and we sang a song in commemoration of one of a close member's death anniversary. After the pastor's sermon, we went home and had our lunch.

At about 2 o'clock, I went back to church to attend the A.Y. program. Then after that, all of the choir members were gathered. Then the expected visitor to come is about to arrive in a few minutes. We started of with few vocalizations and later on, brother Danny Uy was there, listening to us while we were singing. We sang 3 songs for him to be able to evaluate our capabilities.

After hearing us sing, he started giving us advises regarding the right posture when singing, the right way of opening your mouth to be able to pronounce the words distinctively and clearly and the right way of breathing. He also gave us some advises regarding vocalizations to improve our tones and to condition our vocal chords. Then after doing what he taught us we were asked to sing once again and we noticed the great difference with the tones we formed. They were more smooth and connected. Then later on, after our hard work, we ended it up with a prayer.

There is always a space for improvement no matter how good you are. You must always aim for perfection and do your best. These are the sentences that kept lingering in my mind as I walked home.

A Rugged Road Ahead

"A journey of a hundred miles begins with a single step", that is my motto in life. Today is a special day for all of the officers for it is the day when we will pledge to do our best in order to have organized clubs.

After our classes from 7 am to 2:30 pm, the preparations for the induction started. At about 3:30 pm, the program started. First, we had the doxology: "The Prayer", which was sang by the Liriko club members and officers. Then, it was followed by the flag raising, and the CNSHS hymn, which were both led by the Liriko members and officers as well.

Then later on, all the presidents and their vice presidents in case they are busy had their dance number. It was a good one, I like the way they performed as graceful as they can and they even included things that may represent their club, say for instance, the president of the Liriko has a guitar in hand, etc. Then it was followed by the PTA officers saying their pledge to the school that they will help and support us in every way that they can.

Then introductions were given about the guest speaker. Then after his speech, we went on the stage and had our intermission number. It was quite a bad one because we were not heard by everyone because we only have one microphone at hand and the background music was louder than us. But for me, it is a good performance because we did our best and we were not able to practice well because we were busy with the preparations since yesterday.

Then after us, another guest speaker went ahead with his speech. Then after that, Ma'am De Vera, the principal, had her speech as well regarding how to mold good leaders for the next generation. Then, now, the time has come, the time for all of the officers to say their pledge regarding their duty as an officer of their clubs. And we,as the SSG officers, were to guide the other officers. We were the chosen leaders of the school. After that, The induction ended up.

And starting tomorrow, I know that a rugged journey awaits each and everyone of us. The journey of problems engaged with us. But with everyone helping each other and with God's help, I know that we can overcome any obstacle waiting for us along our journey.

The Best Father in the World

My father is a religious, a hardworking, and a loving man to his family. Ever since I was young, I always looked up to him. One time, while I was in elementary, I have an assignment in our Bible subject. I had a hard time doing it and when my father noticed that, he helped me out. It is a proof that he is indeed religious because he knew every single thing about it, a proof that he never leaves his Bible behind.I always see him praying and communicating with God whenever he is at home.He goes to work early in the morning and goes back home late in the evening. He is hardworking indeed! Despite all that, whenever he goes home, he never forgets about having a bonding between our family. He is planning to go on trips for us to get together although my mom is currently not in the country. He is also loving to his real family, he is the one supporting his nephews and nieces whose parents met a tragic death. Eventhough he is not always around, I know that he will always be there to support me in every little way. He is everything I could ask for, a loving and caring father. As soon as I woke up, I took a bath, got dressed and ate breakfast. I went to church when I finished and attended the lesson study of the Youth A class. In there,we had exchange of thoughts and ideas regarding our topic for that day. And after the discussion, we had the closing prayer to finish it up. Then, next was the response led by our choir, and the speech.

As soon as the speaker finished, we went home and had our lunch. Then after eating lunch, I still have enough time to practice my violin so I practiced playing a couple of songs and the ones I am required to study. Then I prepared myself then went back to church where we will meet. As soon as we arrived, we left and went on to the Mabacao church where our concert will be held.

Then as soon as all the people were gathered inside the church, the first part started. The songs were all sag in acapella so it was quite hard for us. I also had a couple of mistakes because I don't memorize the old songs they practiced while we're not yet in the choir before. Then as soon as the first part was done, we went backstage and had a short time rest.

Then we proceeded with the second part the one that was accompanied by the organ. It was quite better since I memorized the lyrics pretty well so my mistakes were just few. Then after singing those 7 songs, we had another break. Then after us, we were followed by the Spring Wind Ensemble who played a couple of song which bought us time to rest longer.

Then after them, we are gathered once again to the consecration hall and had the last part of our concert, the VOP style, wherein we got songs from the hymnal and wherein we also had solo parts. And for the finishing touch, our last song, "Good Old Gospel Medley" was sang with enough power and emotions. Then lastly, we had the prayer and went home. I felt relieved for the success of the concert through God's help.

My Family Tree

Click the picture for a clearer one..

We all grow up with the weight of history on us. I woke up a little bit late so I just hurried up in fixing my stuffs and everything. As soon as I arrived to school, I went to the 4th year pavilion and got my t-shirt from ate Betchie. Then I went back to our room changed to my P.E. pants and the t-shirt I just received.

Then later on, the flag raising ceremony started. We had the doxology first, wherein we sang the song: "Here I Am to Worship", with the accompaniment of ate Jheng, who is playing the guitar. I can say that the harmony we were able to form is quite pleasant to the ears. Then while in the middle of the song, I voiced out my prayers to God for guidance throughout the whole week.

Then later on the flag was raised while we were singing the National Anthem. It was then followed by the CNSHS Hymn. Then the Calabarzon, and together with the exercise. The exercise was quite shocking because the cd got broken so the song keeps on repeating or sometimes it is being cut so it was hard for us to match the moves with the exercise. Oh well, at least we did our best. and finally, we were able to lead a successful flag raising ceremony.

This Friday was another busy day for me. I had a lot of things in my mind and a lot of problems to solve. After our classes for the whole day, we had our usual 1 hour free time for the clubs. I was informed earlier that we will be having a meeting of the SSG officers for the preparation of lowering the flag later on.

But while in the middle of the meeting, I was approached by Kua Clinton, science club's president, and told me about the meeting of the science club members for the practice for leading next week's flag raising. As soon as I was informed, I was excused from the meeting and went on to the science club's meeting.

I was really shocked because i will be leading in 2 consecutive times. Then in the rendezvous, we practiced the exercise and we were told of our roles next week. We were only able to practice for a couple of minutes and were later called by the commanders for the flag retreat. I proceeded on to the other SSG officers and we were able to finish successfully as well.

A Hundred Steps to God's Creation

This Saturday is yet another special day for me. As usual I went to church early in the morning. It is my first time to attend the youth's meeting since I had been from Junior ever since I turned 10. It is quite a good experience getting along with the youth members. After the lesson, we had the response led by our choir and a special number. Then later on the speaker stepped on to the platform and started saying his message ebout God.

After all of that, we went home and had our lunch. Then after eating, I took out my violin and started practicing since I was not able to practice last night. I practiced 2 new songs so it's kinda hard for me to master both of them. But I still did my best to be able to play them perfectly.

At about 1:30 pm, I started preparing myself for our trip to Bonifacio Shrine where we will held our A.Y. program. Then, as soon as we arrived at the place, we started preparing the seats for the program. First, we had the singspiration, followed by the opening prayer. Then after that, we had the family presentation. Our family just sang a song with the younger kids doing the act. It was really fun.

Then next was the instrumental number of the Spring Wind Ensemble. Then next to that was another group activity, we were divided into 4 groups and we were supposed to guess the event being demonstarted. The first one to be able to get the exact answer will gain a point. And at that activity, our group won...Yay for us!

And finally, my turn is up. I got hold of my violin and started playing together with the accompaniment of the guitar being played by Kua Mj. It is quite a good one, yet I can't deny that I did commit a couple or rather a lot of mistakes due to being nervous. I can't stop my hand from shaking, well you can say that I do have stage fright.

And so after that, I rested for awhile and joined once again in the activities. The next one is sbout God's creation. The things he did from the first day up to the 7th day. But, unfortunately, our group didn't win. But the good part is we had fun and we were able to reminisce once again God's wonderful creation.

After everything, we had a break and had our merienda. Later on, for the final and last activity, we climbed the 100 steps. It was really tiring when we finally reached the top. But it feels good for the accomplishment of climbing that far. Then as soon as we got down, we went home and I went to sleep early.

Purpose of My Existence

First of all, when it comes to my family, as much as I could, I would like to be someone whom my parents can be proud of. I want to give them the real joy of having a child.

When it comes to faith, I want to share the faith I have to God and the blessings that he has given me. I want to be an instument in serving God especially by witnessing to others or by sharing whatever I know to them.

I always dreamed of being a violinist who can share the beauty of music to others. I want to ease other's pain by playing music to them and my removing their stress away. I also loved singing and wished to be a good singer someday.

And based on my own dream, I want to travel around the world. I want to be free, just like a bird because I am kinda adventurous. I like discovering things and seeing significant places like the Golden Gate Bridge I saw this summer in San Francisco. I would also like to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris and if possible I would also like to cross or atleast even see at a far distance, the Great Wall of China and lots more.

Our Own Orchestra

Today, I woke up late due to my intensive practice last night for our special number this A.Y. program. As usual, I went to church and attended the sabbath school and divine worship program. After that, we went home to have our lunch.

After eating, I practiced together with my sister, who is playing the organ, and my cousin, who is playing the flute. Together, we formed our own orchestra. Then after a 15-minute practice, we headed to the church to attend our choir's practice. We sang the song:"Seek ye the Lord", and had some vocalizations. It took us an hour to master it. Then after that, we were supposed to practice once more but we ended up playing different songs, not the one we are supposed to practice. Then I easily got exhausted and rested for awhile.

While sitting, I hit the microphone and it suddenly fell. As I was reaching it, my violin suddenly fell. It was quite a shock. I hurriedly took my violin, and looked if there were cracks caused by the fall. Fortunately, I found nothing but just saw that the bridge was removed.I tried to put it back, thinking everything will be alright. But, it won't fit, so I was forced to loosen the tuning pegs for me to be able to put the bridge back in place.

Then, when it was in place, finally, I tried to have them tuned. Good thing Kuya Eric, our pianist was there and Kuya MJ, another music expert was there as well. They were the ones who helped me out have my violin tuned. But, while tuning the G-string, the string suddenly snapped.

Good thing I always have my extra strings with me in case of emergencies just like this one. I put it out and replaced the broken string. And later on, my violin which was once broken, is now back to normal once again. I was able to practice before the program started.

Then after the singspiration, prayer, and bible game, it is now our time to perform. Before performing, i had a short prayer thanking God for everything and asking for his guidance. We went out there ready to share the blessing we had received through music.

Though I had a couple of mistakes, I feel truly blessed because despite all of these that has happened to me for this day, God still gave me a chance to serve him and share what I have through music. I feel happy after the performance because I did my very best and I know that god was listening to the song we offer him with.

Hour Of Worship

This Friday, June 20,2008, a lot has happened to me. After having our classes, we had an hour of free time intended for us to attend our club's meeting. Since I heard from my other co-Science club members that we don't have a meeting, I intended to attend the meeting of the SSG and then later on try to audition in the Liriko. But while going to the Home Economics room, where we will have our meeting and at the same time where the auditions will be held, I met up with another co-Science club member who told me that we have a meeting that will be held at the Nat. Sci lab at this instant.

So I walked hurriedly to the Nat. Sci lab where I saw the other officers and members sitting. I grab a seat close to my classmate. Then later on, Ms. Pareja started discussing the projects of the club and the rules and regulations regarding the usage of the compost pit and the search for the earthwatch teen 2009.

After the meeting, the students are all in line already so we just stayed at the front of the canteen till the announcements were over. Then while the teachers are announcing important things, some of the students were dismissed because they are not feeling well. One of them is a friend of mine, so I went to her as soon as I saw that she was guided by the company commander into one of the chairs.

I tried to help her and later on, she told me that she is now feeling better. " Whew, what a relief", was what I said in my head because I really got worried that one of my friends is not feeling well. Later on, we went home and I went to church after having my dinner.

This Saturday, is yet another special day for me. I woke up early today in preparation for going to church. We had our lesson by group and later on, we proceeded with the second service. After the sermon of the speaker, we had our communion service. First we had the foot washing and later on the distribution of the bread and the grape juice which represents Jesus' blood and His body when he got crucified. After that, we had the closing song followed by the prayer led by our church elder.

Then after lunch, we had the Sabbath Afternoon program.at about 3 pm. Though it is already raining hard, nothing can hinder us from worshipping God. First we started the program by singing praises then it was followed by a prayer asking for God's guidance. Then we had bible activities wherein we had so much fun and learned a lot more things.Later on, my cousin and I played an instrumental piece for the special number part. He played his flute, while I played my violin. Then after that, we had our group dynamics and after the activity we had our closing song and then closing prayer.

84th anniversary

Today, dated June 14, 2008, is the celebration of our church's 84th anniversary. I invited some of my friends to come and visit our church but unfortunately due to some instances, they were not able to come.During the morning, I took part in the Sabbath School program by being one of the usherettes who warmly welcomes visitors, hand them programs, and shows them to their seats. The whole program lasted for almost four hours of worship and giving praise to God.Then a special presentation will be held later on after lunchtime. After the whole preparation, we are now ready to perform and go on with the concert.

The Spring Chorale, our choir, started first with singing songs in between the deliverance of the church's history from the time it was built. The first people who were responsible for the programs in the church were stated as well. Then after that, the part II, began, the chairs were arranged and we were seated while singing the songs entitled: "Thanks Be to God", "He Leadeth Me", "Pillar of Fire", and "The Majesty And Glory of Your Name".

Then after that, we had the acapella part.We sang the songs:" I Will Rejoice", "I'll Be There", "Ride The Morning Winds", "Climbing Up The Mountain", "Count Your Blessings" and many more. Then, we were given a short break, while the Spring Wind Ensemble took our place in performing in front of everyone.

Then after their performance, we had the last part of the concert which is in VOP style. We sang songs from the hymnal and were assigned to have solos for a specific song. Then our last and final song was the "Good Old Gospel Singing" in the prayer of the pastor.
